Review on Cigarette Lighter Voltmeter Waterproof Motorcycle by Vincent Blitz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The chargers and 12V outlet work fine, but the DMM is not accurate.

Having two USB fast charge ports is great. They fast charged my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S8+. The 12v outlet worked great with the 150w inverter. Please note that the 200W power rating is misleading as this only applies when connected to 24V. Since most people will probably only connect to 12V, it's actually only rated for 150W. I did not use the supplied mounting flange - instead I used a one piece low voltage wall box and blanking plate in which I drilled 2 holes. It was tight but it worked. I had to move the 12 volt outlet out of the way to keep the flip cover out of the way of the USB flip cover, but I was fine with that. The only disappointment was the built in digital multimeter. It read at least 0.2V, which technically agrees with the documentation that came with the device and should be within range but isn't listed. When I plugged something into the USB port, the DMM dropped another 0.2V, which really made it pretty unreliable for battery voltage measurements. I'm not expecting millivolt accuracy, but the difference between 12.7V and 12.3V on a deep cycle battery is about 40% of the battery's charge capacity. It makes a world of difference knowing if I have 50% battery capacity left or just 10% and it's literally dead (and potentially damaging the battery). The capacitive touch switch worked great for turning it on and off, although I wish it only affected the DMM and didn't disable the USB charge ports. If it didn't even have a DMM I would give it 5 stars but I paid extra to get the DMM feature over other options and it didn't work so only 3 stars.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
