I bought these to hang Christmas lights around windows outside rather than staple them for trimming. 10 years ago that wasn't a problem. Whatever manufacturers were used (maybe silicone rubber?) helped, although they started to fail over time (hence I had to buy more). But I've tried several products including this one and after a minute or two they stop sucking and the lights go out - it gets boring fast. I got to the point where I used a lot of clear tape instead. In the end I came to the conclusion that perhaps the cold temperature had damaged the seal. So I attached the blonde strands inside with these suction cups and it worked better. It's hard to see the lights from the outside, but it's passable.
