I purchased this item to cut anti-static vinyl to make privacy windows in my home. The thought was that it might be a little easier to use than the cardboard cutter that came with my vinyl applicator kit. Eventually I got acquainted with the box cutter and liked the depth it can cut a little more than this item for the purpose but the Slice has some serious cutting power! You will be surprised how good and what it can go through. I've been a fan of ceramic kitchen knives for a long time and it still impresses me. I now use it to cut plastic wrap, cut out coupons, and work with thicker paper. It is very light and easy to use, although it will be difficult to cut very thick materials or manage curves. It can definitely replace scissors for many purposes provided you have a good piece of cardboard or other cutting board surface to put underneath as it goes deeper than you would expect. I'm glad I bought this product and I recommend it.
