If you've ever dealt with the stress of untangling headphone cords and loved it, then these lights are for you! Pretty! And I was right! I completely unraveled the first thread and that was a mistake. I suggest figuring out where they end up and relaxing to avoid the confusion I had. I placed them on a 7 foot tree and tied the batteries to the trunk. I then wrapped the battery scraps up to the end of the thread. I think another two strand set would have given me that final shimmer I wanted but it still looks great! Copper wire is easily manipulated and bent or twisted around branches to get light exactly where you want it. The different settings are very nice for the Christmas tree and it seems that all the settings can be easily synchronized. They get stuck in branches easily, so if used on a fake tree I suggest going layer by layer, fluffing up and adding light. Also, if you are placing them on the trunk I would suggest that all the packs line up so you can easily get down and turn them all on and off. This can be a little annoying, I had to remove decorations from the places I reach through so I had to plan this better. They come with a timer setting enabled, I disabled it but I'm not sure how long the timer should be. But it might be useful for the placement I used on our tree. I love that there are no strings to hide on or step on and it actually gave me the freedom to place our tree in the center of the room and I love that! I wish they came with a remote control for this specific purpose but for the price I'm totally satisfied! After the holidays I will use them for decorative purposes around the house. The color looks like they're really orange against the copper wire, but on wood it's a nice warm color with a nice vibe for the season.
