I used to have this lens (my first prime when I switched to mtf). I was hoping that there wouldn't be as many problems with the new cameras (and there are). When focusing, hunting takes a lot of time. Absolutely unsuitable for video in continuous focus mode (noisy and slow focus). However, all of this suggests that the image quality (after focusing) is really good. If you're willing to wait to focus (or focus manually) you won't be disappointed with the image quality for photos. Manual focus for videos also works well. The lens cannot cope with continuous focusing and the focus motor will noticeably interfere in the video. 17mm is a really nice focal length for an MFT (Olympus 17mm f1.8), it's as close to perfection as you'd like. This pancake version of f2.8 is statically more desirable. I wish Olympus would spend a little time refining this lens (but it is what it is). The cost of this lens (used) compared to the image quality you can get is not bad at all. It's probably not the wisest decision I've ever made twice, but unlike last time, I'm just leaving it for fun.
