I would give this a 4-1/2 if possible. I bought it because it has a clock when not being used as a timer. This is a great timer with a save button that works well for me as I have something that I count down the same time every day. I also like that it "counts up" after the timer triggers so you know how long it's been. The reason I gave it a 1/2 is because, like many other timers I've tried, it's not a sufficiently "tight" due to the clip that causes it to stick out on the hood. magnetic attachment to my hood. return. So if I press the buttons while it's still "attached" to where I taped it, it wobbles and even falls off. So I just adjusted it and took it off whenever I needed to press buttons on it. But it's better than what I brought back to the stores - they put magnets next to the clip and the clip pushes it off the surface so those magnets don't hold it in place at all. This timer has the magnet on the clip so it stays in place except when you press the buttons. - SE
