Great travel socks and swollen ankles

I have a problem with swollen ankles when we travel and have to sit for long periods. My friend gave me my first pair of VIM & VIGR compression stockings. Wearing them served the purpose. When I finally got home after a very long day of flying and waiting in bad weather and took off these socks, my ankles were not swollen at all. Now I always wear them on plane trips, not only for swollen ankles but also to prevent blood clots. I recently bought two more pairs to wear on a bus tour of Europe. Also, unlike most compression stockings, they're not too tight at the top, but they still hold up.
