Review on Enhanced In-Flight Experience with Sierra ANR Aviation Headset featuring Bluetooth Connectivity by Ricky Lahoti

. More comfortable on a 1 hour SoCal test flight with another pilot, although I've done many 3 hour flights on 3G. Cleaner sound for me with ATC and connectivity than 3G in flight, although 3G was fine again. Dislikes: Loud, low frequency, somewhat painful vibration feedback with noise canceling on and after adjusting position to stop head movement. works again, although it seemed to improve after a few minutes of wear (maybe it has heat sensitive foam ear pads which would be better in warm weather?). A Bluetooth phone only works with a headset plugged in and turns off at *any* noise on the radio and garbles on many calls so unit can't be used home) - old 3G worked fine with wired phone connection (wired connection works on this one not for the phone, just music and will be interrupted by some radio sound). [Edit: I've since used Bluetooth to make a successful in-flight call, but while the recording was readable, it was muted. 3G was pretty clear and I couldn't even tell the call was being made by an in-flight aircraft.] I didn't attempt to speak to ATC, but test communications with the pilot seated next to me were clear and legible . But the garbled Bluetooth phone test makes me wonder if ATCs sometimes have trouble understanding me. Constant white noise static but not objectionable after a minute (interestingly after using this Sierra there was white noise when switching back to 3G which I had never noticed before). After paying so much for a headset I would like a better quality. Unusable phone and loud feedback ruin the deal for me. However, I can understand why some reviewers like it. I'll be bringing it back and getting back to 3G while waiting for price drops on newer and hopefully better headsets.
