Light and compact lens, ideal for travel and everyday shooting. I fell in love with the size right away and it finally reminded me of what a mirrorless camera should be. I have a Sony A7RII and I usually carry heavy lenses with me, so I never took my camera with me just for the occasional shot. This small lens with this focal length was definitely desirable. The main problem with the lens, however, is that the autofocus is a little jarring and not always accurate. On the camera, this can indicate that it's in focus, but when you look at the photos later, it's actually out of focus. This happens about 20% of the time. Even in continuous focus mode, the lens constantly yaws and makes engine noise. If you're only using the lens in single shot mode, it should focus well with no continuous hunting noise. Autofocus is mostly not used in continuous focus mode. I'm not sure if my copy was bad or if the lens was just poorly designed. Because this lens is designed specifically for Sony E-mount cameras, those buggy issues really shouldn't exist. So I returned it and hopefully Rokinon can fix the issues and release a better version. I would buy it again if the above problem is solved.
