I bought this at the recommendation of YouTube's DSLR Video Shooter - although it advertised a different brand I found the Neewer brand worked just as well at a lower price. You must purchase a quality grip to support this device if you don't already have one. The outrigger leg simply slides inward and the weight supports itself. When I need to detach the boom to move around, it's very handy.
