🎤 Versatile Neewer Metal Microphone Boom Support Holder: Ultimate Stability and Flexibility Review

I've only used a few of these holders in the past and the Neewer version seems a little wider than anything I've used before. Still works as expected, but when it comes to travel video production, every inch in a package counts, and this one takes up an extra inch. Maybe that's a small complaint for you, but for me it's important.

I've used it on two projects. Illuminated boom microphone. This thing broke. It wasn't until my second project that it could support the weight of a normal setup and broke. The upper part in the shape of the letter "Y" broke off the lower metal rod. That's when I noticed it was welded in two tiny spots, so it obviously broke off. Bad material or at least welding.

I needed a second bar support so I bought this. It's almost identical to the first one I bought but a little bigger and heavier. Some reviewers point out that this takes up extra space (which it does), but I don't see that as a problem. This thing is primitive in design but very reliable, should last longer than me, very affordable and does its job very well.

Solid construction and does the job as expected. I bought this at the recommendation of YouTube's DSLR Video Shooter - although it advertised a different brand I found the Neewer brand worked just as well at a lower price. You must purchase a quality grip to support this device if you don't already have one. The outrigger leg simply slides inward and the weight supports itself. When I need to detach the boom to move around, it's very handy.
