Review on HEAD Ti.S6 Strung Tennis Racquet (4-1/2): Your Ultimate Tennis Partner by Elmito Yeager

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for returning amateur players

I was on the high school tennis team almost 40 years ago and last played seriously about 30 years ago. Now that I'm in my fifties, I wanted to get back into the game to get some exercise. My last racquet (remember how long ago that was) was the Arthur Ash Head Comp 63lb racquet with VS gut. I just love the Head Ti-S6! I like its lightness as I can move my head quickly to take pictures I couldn't even take in high school. It has a lot of power whether it's volleys or ground shots. Control from the backline is better than ever and I can land those backline shots right over the net with great power. The plastic cover of the racquet provides good spin and although I don't know what the racquet is strung with, the strings feel taut and have a lot of power. While it's certainly still good to hold out, I've found that volley trips still cause quick recoil. The sweet spot covers most of the racquet head and vibration is negligible, with or without a vibration dampener. Speaking of kit, when I bought it from Bois Blanc Sports through Revain it came with a very nice Head racket case. As soon as I bought it and with a little practice, I'm playing the best tennis of my life with this racket. I prefer my son's Head Liquidmetal 4 and I love having this 14 year old work my age. I don't know if this counts as an old man's racket, but if so I don't care as it helps me play a few notches above my skill level. I just love this racket and can recommend it unreservedly.
