I bought this for my 6 year old because he sweats so much at night! I really hoped it would be cold and keep him from sweating, but not really. I didn't realize the filler is polyester which doesn't let air through. One side of the duvet is cotton, very warm and soft. The other side is nylon/polyethylene 80% and 20% respectively. This side of the blanket is the "cooling side". It is a very cool and almost slippery material like silk. It sticks to nails very easily if you have cracked nails. I hooked him a couple of times and he pulled the thread out. I mean it's expensive for a duvet so take that into account. If I had air conditioning I would understand how it can help you cool down. But if you rely solely on a blanket to stay cool, this isn't going to happen. My son, on the other hand, loves the blanket. Even his sisters like to steal it from him. I've never had this type of blanket before and I'm impressed with the concept. If you're looking for a cool sheet or comforter, I would just use a cotton sheet. I'm looking for something made of linen. I read that it is very cool. Although expensive. I might be looking for a linen sheet :) I hope this helps and if you're willing to spend the money I think you won't be disappointed. This is a cozy blanket.
