I bought this small swivel mount to mount an Atomos Ninja V monitor/recorder to a Sony FDR-VX700 camera. The hot shoe is recessed, usually covered by a small door. You will need a shoe mount that is less than about 1 inch in diameter to fit in the recess. The SmallRig mount fits perfectly but needs to be rotated to hold the Ninja V in place. With no registration pins on the arm, the Ninja V tends to twist under the tension of the HDMI cable or simply gravity. Since then I've found other devices that fit the show and prevent unwanted spins.
