I'm anything but a techie. I'll be the first to admit that I was kind of confused by the setup guide and was hoping for the best. Miraculously it worked for me. Admittedly, being a skeptic, I threw two independent thermometers into the aquarium to confirm the temperature - the thing is on top. I woke up this morning to find the temperature was 81°C. Knowing I was putting a boatload of $$$ coral chips in the tank today, I was more than a little concerned. Ink Bird appeared as a lone ranger. As soon as I plugged it in, it immediately turned off the heating. Boom - microphone drop. You can see my screenshot - it will cool it down to my set temperature of 77. Too bad I didn't hook up this thing yesterday. If I ever get a cooler I might run both on this model. As long as I can be sure I won't wake up from cooked fish or fish fragments. I'm giving this 4 stars - just because I wish it had two sensors for my tank with a 72" wide display. Otherwise excellent temperature control, accurate and intuitive enough for me to figure it out.
