So you look at the price and you think "What a deal!" They looked good new and were easy to install. The hardest part was finding a way to keep the trunk open and not bang your head during the install. In any case, I use the trunk lid on average a maximum of 1 time per week. Scion tC is no longer my main car. One way or another, one of the struts conveniently fell off its mount on the pitch black night driving home late at night. I didn't know what happened as it's almost impossible to push the strut far enough to fully close the trunk without securing it. Finally got a look today (2 days later) to fix the situation and it looks like the right strut mount snapped in half. While the left post is still attached, the latch has almost come loose. I will try to replace these racks with another company, preferably Toyota OEM. Terrible product.
