Bought for my nephew and his wife who are expecting their first child so tested before gift wrapping. I chose this one over the one my wife and I used for our little one because it promised better performance... and I wasn't disappointed. The packaging made gift wrapping easier, but the real good thing is how well it works. The video quality is clear and the microphone and speaker on the camera unit are excellent. We were able to place the camera on the dresser and get a clear picture of our daughter's bed and communicate with her through the camera with clear audio. The camera also has a cute, kid-friendly look and comes with a wall stand (I'm guessing it was designed by a parent with young kids... awesome!). Temperature control and night vision are useful, but what we really like is the ability to set the noise level at which the display unit turns on. I highly recommend this kids camera and monitor.
