I'll start with the major positive: my kid caught onto this VERY quickly and I started to feel like she would be reading a lot faster than I had expected. This is a very effective educational toy.HOWEVER, one of the things you want out of a toy that uses brainpower is that it will keep kids busy, but you have to be there as an adult to keep finding the right piece to move onto the toy to make it work. There's no way a little kid learning to read can figure that out on their own.Also, one of them spells sex. It kind of bothers me, but maybe I'm being a prude.
