The washcloth is soft but easy to move and the hard plastic center can hit you. The handle itself is sturdy (like in j I don't think I could break it) but because it's made of smooth plastic it's really hard to hold in the shower. Especially with soap. So I end up having to use a washcloth and lose the point of having a pen. I tried putting some tape on the end. This makes it easier to use.
