You need to run the setup wizard where you need the WiFi most and consider all the possibilities. This isn't the first time I've tried setting up a repeater and thought I was in for serious trouble. Then I sat down and patiently went through all the screens. Bingo! Five strips of clean, crisp, stable Wi-Fi. The trick is to refresh the available networks until you see the network you want with at least 1 lane. The setting tells you that the signal is very weak. never mind Enter the password for the WiFi signal you want to connect to and the extender will make a good, secure connection by adding a short extension to the network name. To use the devices in the annex, make sure you are connected to the new extended network. They use the same password that already exists for the network. My RV is about 250 feet from my original cable modem and this model has a great signal with no issues. This is the range in feet, for those who can't count metric easily, is 650 + loose change. Now I can be connected anywhere on a whole acre.
