I use this in my weekly "dustpan" on my 120 SWFO. I just put in the filter sock and put the hose from my gravel bag in. Reduces (not eliminates) unnecessary water changes. If you have a sand backing, I suggest attaching the gravel pack tube to a higher rock (8-12 inches) and flipping the sand over with a washcloth. Otherwise the toe clogs up too quickly.
