Ideal for PCIEX4 slot. I wouldn't use it for a pciex8 or pciex16 slot as there are adapters or where you can add 2 NVMe drives to a pciex8 slot or up to 4 to a pciex16 slot. You can also purchase higher capacity adapters for more lane slots to save bandwidth and allow for future storage expansion. I use this for 1TB NVMe SSD media.
