First of all I would like to point out that this product takes up most of your desk. Therefore, be sure to take your measurements before purchasing this product. It's not intended for small jobs or even stand-up desktop applications (I've tried it and it's sidetracking). I myself tried it on two desks, one of which had a stand mount, and unfortunately I had to turn the mouse pad sideways to install the mouse pad. You really need to make sure you take your measurements before picking up this pillow. I was concerned about how it was packaged and if it would damage the LED lights, but it works great. The pillow form actually pops out of the box pretty quickly. I didn't have to leave it on long for it to flatten out. There is a strong new odor but it went away after a few hours. This device uses a micro USB cable to power the LEDs. Another note: the cable is relatively long, so you don't have to worry about it being too short. It reaches your computer with no problem, but you can replace the cable with a longer one if needed. You can plug it into a USB outlet if you want to keep the USB socket on your computer (which I do). There is RGB lighting on the edges of the mouse pad. The nice thing is that you can easily manage different settings just by touching the top button indicator next to the cable. The lighting is pretty nice, but I usually try to stick with a solid bright red as it goes with the rest of my desk accessories and desktop. There are several different pre-programmed lights, and the slight downside is that if you miss the lighting setting you want, you'll have to cycle through all the lights again to get back there. The design on the pillow is AMAZING. I would say it looks like a colored flame/smoke. The material also absorbs moisture well, so use caution when eating/drinking near the mouse pad. If you have written on this material, you may make an impression over time. It has a good grip on the bottom so you don't have to worry about slipping on the table. My mouse and keyboard are perfect for this. Also, I have enough space to work so I don't have to worry about my mouse getting stuck and slipping off the mat. In general, this device is excellent. It has great RGB lighting (but not too glaring) and makes for smooth mouse movements.
