My 2008 Range Rover HSE engine light was on. This scanner was able to read codes P0171 and P0173, bad codes for both banks of cylinders. Reading the live data confirmed that the fuel trim was maxed out at 25+, indicating the issue is still present. I cleaned the mass airflow sensor, removed the dead cross from the sensor filament and checked again. Recent data has shown that fuel trim is still out of range at 18+ so there are more issues. I did a smoke test to look for vacuum leaks and found that the EGR was letting undosed air into the intake. I replaced the EGR and checked the live data again to confirm the correction. Fuel trim now reads between -3 and +3, indicating the issue has been resolved. I cleared the codes and the check engine light has not been on for 1000 miles. This is a very efficient scanner for reading codes and real time data and confirming the monitors are ready for the vehicle to pass inspection. If you take the time to study your codes and learn how to read real-time data, this scanner will provide you with all the information you need to repair your engine light bulb.
