Not only does my 5 year old granddaughter love to build with these brain flakes, but all adults who see the jar can't resist building with the pieces either. It encourages creativity, imagination and planning and my granddaughter can spend hours working on the details. You can see in the picture what she was building when she first opened the jar. Also, there was a problem with the product when I received it and the company fixed the problem very quickly. I am very happy with this purchase and also with the company. UPDATE: I bought this over two years ago. After not playing with it for a while, my granddaughter rediscovered it at the age of 7 and immediately started creating buildings and various other structures in a creative rage. She has a lot of fun again with this wonderful set. I think this is a great choice for any age child. I'm still very glad I bought Brain Flakes!
