Review on πŸ”Š Elac Debut IW-D61-W Custom In-Wall Speaker (Ea), Black - Superior Sound Quality and Sleek Design by Sherri Rivera

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The mounting system could be better and you need a subwoofer, but they sound good in the mids and highs

Mids and highs sound fantastic. Limited bass. need to team up with subs. Zero distortion at high volume. The attachment system can really be improved a lot. The tabs holding the speaker to the wall will not pop off on their own. You may have to punch a notch in the threads of the mounting screws for the flip to occur, real resistance. This problem can be easily solved by changing the design of the plastic ramp on the speaker. Grille not completely flush. You should check out the Yamaha grill design. the mounting system is similar to Bose but retains its bright sound. Overall I am satisfied but the product is not perfect. Too bad they cost $150 each. Because it's 16.5 inches wide, don't buy the accompanying midrange unless you want to start cutting out the lugs, which is a really poor design choice for this model's speaker. Use it for the center speaker to easily install the speaker in the wall. Made in China.

Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
