Review on ValvoMax Stainless Oil Drain Valve - Tool-free, Mess-free, Fast Drain Solution - M12-1.75 with Stainless Drain Hose Attachment by Jay Blo

Instructions state to replace the existing drain plug with the ValvoMax. My '17 F-150 has a cover over the drain so the plastic plug comes through with a half turn and gets in the way of the insert. The thread does not reach the internal thread of the oil pan. Is the cover removable? Is an adapter required? I have a ValvoMax VM12-1.75 that was listed for this truck. Please help me!
