Like many other women here, I smelled gas and nobody believed me for at least a few months. I also got nosebleeds and a small rash. No one else could smell it, and I could never tell exactly where it came from. I asked for this device and not in vain. One day I finally found what I thought was the source of the smell outside. Warmed up / calibrated on the road away from the smell according to the instructions. Of course, as I approached the gas meter, he went nuts. I never thought that the smell could penetrate the house from the outside, but it did! We had a leak right on our side of the gas meter UNDERGROUND. The wind had blown it into OUR BEDROOM for AT LEAST a few months if not a YEAR. I decided to check the whole house while we waited for the gas company and in fact the bedroom was the worst place in the house. The gas company came and confirmed that we had to turn off all the gas so we could fix it. IT COST $30! You have to make sure you calibrate it and set the sensitivity right before using it and it's a lifesaver. I wasn't crazy. I hope we are all better now. The product is made of durable plastic and looks well built but honest. even if it only worked once. It was worth every penny. It was a serious gas leak.
