So I bought this to control the fan in my RV, it's over the main bed. It seemed like a great idea, being reversible (to bring fresh air straight in) and variable speed (to create the faintest exhaust breeze while you sleep). It works as described: The reversing switch is a three-position switch: forward, off, reverse. ; The rheostat slows the motor to a complete stop or starts it at full speed. The product gets five stars for functionality. Here's where it falls apart: NOISE - three to four times the normal engine level. The hardware itself doesn't make any noise, but the digital sine wave generated by the card (I assume) makes the fan motor SCREAM. Noise is a high-pitched, high-pitched squeak. It (the motor) goes from sort of a hum at its lowest speed to a full blown tantrum at about two thirds. Then at full power no "extra/induced" noise (other than normal engine noise). Well, I don't plan on returning it, but I don't plan on using it either. I'll go back to the original multi-resistor switch. If anyone can help me to solve this problem, I would be grateful for any advice! If anyone has
