It's very simple and I always prefer to ground my head units.

A word to the wise. On a 1997 Wrangler you will need to ground the stereo to the body or find a floating ground near the dash as there is no ground wire on this harness. And no, the brown wire is not ground on this harness. It's very simple and I always prefer to ground my head units to the chassis. This helps save battery power.
