I'm fetching water from a well and have noticed that the screens of various appliances in my house are regularly clogged with sand particles. And not all units have these removable and cleanable filter screens, which means sand particles get into the unit and shorten its lifespan. This pre-filter block should solve this problem. This is a beautiful device, well designed and made. There are no mounting holes or brackets on the unit itself, so it should only be supported by the pipes to which it is attached. Since my house has PEX pipes I had to do some woodwork to make a support for the pipes which in turn will support the particulate filter. There was nothing wrong with that, plus the installation was easy.
