I bought this gun for several purposes but mainly to check the temperature of the leaves of plants and the temperature of my aquarium. To start, I stuck a piece of duct tape to the side of my tank and let it warm up to make sure I was getting accurate readings. It takes a while for the temp gun to find the correct reading, it's not instantaneous but I was amazed to see that it matched my digital thermometer perfectly which reads 80.2 degrees. Similarly, it worked well for leaf temperature, which is very important to control when using indoor LED lighting. Many people diagnose their plants with all kinds of calcium and magnesium deficiencies under LED lighting when all they need to do is get the leaf temperature to at least 80 degrees, after which your plants will be working at full capacity and actually be able to produce full utilization of your nutrients. Great weapon, I recommend!
