This is a durable, attractive screw-top razor with a machine knurled handle for a secure grip with a wet or soapy hand. It has a very attractive brass/copper finish that contrasts well with the stainless steel. It comes with a set of double edged razors but I loaded it with a feather blade and it shaved very well but with a very careful and light touch. The angle of the razor is slightly more open and the hair is steeper than Mercury's. 25C or Bevel razor so a very gentle light touch is required. I know springs are very sharp, but using them in this razor has given me lots of tears (small cuts) on my lower neck, which hasn't happened with the previously mentioned razors. That's not necessarily a bad thing - some people prefer a more aggressive razor. If you're used to other types of security grips, you'll need to make an adjustment. So remember, this is a slightly heavier shave - if this is your first safety razor, chances are you'll spend the first few days looking like you're in a fight. with a street cat for a while. And if you're used to other styles of fixed-top, top-bolted safety grips, you'll have to adapt. Still a comfortable, beautiful, well balanced and weighted razor. At this price, it's definitely worth trying.
