We were having problems with our 8 month old puppy and couldn't keep his attention. Even during the one-on-one training, his attention was everywhere and he couldn't focus on the task at hand. We've been using the collar for about a week and have been able to train it more in that week than in the 5 months we have. We don't use the shock feature so I can't comment on that, but the beep alone gets his attention and he immediately stops what he's doing and looks at us. Also ideal for off-leash training in the yard. If he enters a part of the yard we don't want him in, we'll beep him and tell him to "stay outside" and he'll turn around. I hope that in a few weeks we can completely abandon the underground fence. Battery life seems pretty good so far. We used it for 3 days without charging and it still worked. We remove the collar before bed, and this is the perfect time to put it on the charger. He also seems to have a really good range. We have a 1 acre garden and had no trouble getting it to work across the yard.
