So this unit arrived in a fairly large box which was exceptionally well packed. At first I thought it was a buyer return as the ribbon on the box is random. But I decided to unbox it and see if everything is there and in good condition. It was. So start building. This part couldn't be easier. 4 pieces of steel with several carriage bolts, nylon nuts and washers. Not bad. Now it's time to install in Jeep. First you need to install rivnuts/nutcerts. This includes a "tool" which is actually just a 9/16" nut as the socket, and an M6x30 bolt which is slightly longer than the socket and nut. So, let's race! In mine TJ I had 4 plugs in the holes where these nuts were going to be fitted Light enough Now it's time for the wrenches It may be a previous injury from skid plate wrenches but I installed them with the expectation that they would eventually would "punch through". No. with a ratchet and a 9ft 16" wrench on the floor. Well, that's how the Jeep and Dash goes, right? No problem. Since this is a TJ setup, I only use the included M6x50 screws for the Unlimited models which require drilling (horror!) So I'm scratching my head and wondering why my screws are M6 (10mm) and my mounting sleeve is 9/16"? Now I need metric AND SAE tools for this simple job.But wait a minute, I have a Jeep, so yes, I have both. And Hammer Finesse, they install with no problems. It should be noted that the hole in the Jeep tub is hexagonal, as is the base of the nuts, so you don't really have to twist these things like it's the final bolt in SpaceX's latest rocket. The instructions continue to cut a 1 inch slot in the carpet to line up the holes with the new nut mounting points. This was the LONGEST part of the job. I actually installed BedTread but the process was the But after I cut out the gap I used a marker to mark the spot because it's difficult to see the gap on a piece of carpet. Then I lined up the trunk frame and aligned the screws and everything was fine inside. There is a small gap in the seal near the door opening so I can see if I can slide the trunk forward a bit. It's really not that important. I can always add more seals to fill that gap if it bothers me enough. Safety was the goal here. After installation, you can probably get about 4 product packages here. Small. Leave large bottles of detergent and pillows. There I was able to get some tools, a tree rescuer, a towline, a lifeline, an air compressor and winch supplies. It's pretty reliable. It offers a high level of security for your property when you need to park your Jeep in areas where assets may be relocated.
