We bought the 60" model and the measurements on a photo were accurate. You can change the colors of flames and embers separately, but you cannot dim them separately. The flame effect is okay - there are clear flame patterns and some of the flames are identical to the ones next to it. The embers do not flicker or "glow", which would give them a more realistic look. far away, but it blows pretty hot air. You can't really see the flame effect when looking at 50 or more degrees from the fireplace, and at certain angles I can see reflections from the individual LEDs illuminating the embers. Overall I'm happy with the product and the quality I got for the price.
