I bought this for an unusual reason. I had to seal the room. We have moved to rent and our bedroom is in the renovated basement. Since they couldn't build directly under the garage, we had a door that led to an unfinished basement (under the garage). It was terrible! Spiders and dust are everywhere and these spiders have infiltrated our bedroom. There was also a terrible draft from the room through the door. In winter it was cold in our room. So we decided to only use this fabric to seal the room but staple the fabric to the door frames on the inside and I used tape on the underside since it was concrete. So far this is working fine. I have not seen any critters (so far - about a month) and there is no draft at all. The real test will of course be when winter comes again but we've had a few cold days and so far so good. I'm sure it works well for traditional purposes too. It's not very thick, but I'm not sure if it's just there to keep paint or dust out.
