Update: I've been using it for over 6 months and I'm very satisfied. I installed it on a pro clip in a '13 GTI. It fits perfectly and works great. I mentioned earlier that I need an easy one-handed solution. The trick to achieving this with this holder is to add some sort of padding to make the minimum closed width slightly narrower than your phone. For me it was a strip of 3/4" double-sided velcro wrapped around the metal slide bars. I found that I adjusted it by cutting the velcro slightly narrower. My initial review: As others have said, does it fit the pro clip base (AMPS hole pattern) I didn't consider the pro clip phone grip options for a number of reasons one of which is price age just seems silly I used to have X-Grip from RAM I'm a fan of the industrial quality of RAM, but was looking for something I could hang on my phone with one hand. Well, it's not. The ball clamp on this little 17mm ball isn't strong enough, to withstand the spring force of the clamping mechanism.you really have to hold it with one hand and either pull out the right side or squeeze the phone until it fits.however very smooth and accurate.I like the clean lines and general simplicity chness. It really looks and works (despite being two-handed) exactly as it should. Extra points for including a small cord holder for your phone charger cord! I'd probably go back to the X-Grip (which I was able to modify with a zip tie to secure neatly in place with one hand, but honestly this thing looks MUCH better with or without a phone. I know the iOttie Grip really makes a... On the other hand I've fitted them to two other cars but they don't look as good as this one This one also seems to be made from the best materials This Arkon grip would be absolutely perfect in my opinion if it had a similar mechanism .
