Review on Excel VBA Programming Simplified: 5th Edition - The Ultimate Guide for Beginners+ by Sean Sheppard

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Disorganized and poorly edited

This book does not tell you how to put together a program or application because there is no reference to structure, syntax, or programming strategies. Instead, it offers pages that explain tricks and magicians. Programming examples are bad. Enter code examples exactly as described in the book and you will get many syntax and compilation errors. Examples rely on wizards from the start, and cute features like the msgbox "Message Box" and 50 pages dedicated to Marco's writing seem a bit overkill. Tell me how to write a program, show me the syntax, and then show me the shortcuts for programming with visual objects, and I'll be a lot happier.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
