    Doesn't directly apply to Excel on Mac Office

    Unfortunately, many keyboard shortcuts, menu buttons, toolbars, and examples only apply to Excel on a Windows computer. I could not find this qualification either on the book cover or in the introductory information. Converting Windows instructions to Mac takes too long. This is especially problematic if you are new to VBA. I contacted Dummies/Wiley to see if a conversion app was available and the answer was no.

    This book does not tell you how to write a program or application because there is no reference to structure, syntax, or strategies for writing programs. Instead, it offers pages that explain tricks and magicians. Programming examples are bad. Enter code examples exactly as described in the book and you will get many syntax and compilation errors. Examples rely on wizards from the start, and cute features like the msgbox "Message Box" and 50 pages dedicated to writing Marcos seem a bit over the

    As an experienced systems programmer, I was surprised that the functions described in this book did not produce the expected result. . The author lists the functions but does not provide the syntax. The function definition does not seem to match the function output. Luckily I can get the function name from the book, go to the help screen in Excel and find more information about it.

    This text is well structured, thought out and well organized. Each chapter introduces new topics based on the previous chapters. The technical details are correct and the code works! Sometimes the code written in textbooks is either buggy or wrong. This text gets an A+. I followed all the code, wrote it myself, tested it along the way, and all the code worked as described. The text was clear and concise. All in all very well done. Highly recommended. You'll learn to work with VBA through Excel,
