Well it was a big disappointment. I bought it as a gift and realized too late that it doesn't work well in DVD mode. The drive makes an annoying noise and some DVDs won't play. It's like a time-lapse photo, whether it's a new DVD or an old one. Also, I bought this for an elderly family member and the remote buttons are so small it's almost impossible to see what they are for. Until my visit last weekend 02/06/2015 I was unaware of the poor quality and performance issues as my mother in law didn't want to bother me or make me feel guilty for buying a poor quality gift. So if anyone is looking for a video DVD combo DO NOT LOOK AT this Funai Corp unit. well, it's not fun at all.
