Review on ISO-ARMOR-2 Microphone Isolation Chamber by Auray: Optimize Your Recording Setup by Peter Green

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Extremely heavy - won't stay in place without falling off due to the weight.

The Auray ISO camera works very well in my opinion - I'm very happy with the sound quality. However, it's EXTREMELY difficult to set up in a way that it doesn't drag your mic out of position because it's so heavy. In particular, I keep falling (due to the weight) on the spot where the shock attaches to the outrigger strut mount. I bought a new shock mount thinking it would fix the problem, but the weight is so great that it ripped off the new bolt holding the new shock mount to the boom post bracket. I even tried a different stylized arrow stand. No kidding, I spent at least 10 full hours putting this together because I want it to work and stay put. works so far. So far I've spent almost $100 more just trying to figure out a way to make this work. This is a serious deficiency! How can you not predict that this is going to be a HUGE problem for many people and provide additional mechanisms to balance the weight? I deeply regret this purchase. If I hadn't spent so much time fixing it and getting it working I would definitely return it. Unfortunately I don't have time to return with Revane.
