This really is a base product and it really does what it says on the tin in terms of expanding your ports. it should be able to easily connect/disconnect the device and on that front the product fails. The surface of the product is smooth, so it is difficult to peel off. You can't squeeze the small sides of the device to disable it. If you squeeze and pull the large sides of the device very hard, you can turn it off, but it's very difficult. This appears to be a very simple design oversight. There should be a notch/texture/something that makes it easier to turn off the device. If you're buying this to make it easy to connect/disconnect two USB-C/TB3 devices to your MacBook, it's not a viable solution. It would be even easier to connect/disconnect two separate cables separately.
