The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that there is a delay between pressing the button(s) on the remote and the collar being triggered Channel. sometimes up to 2 full seconds (even on a full charge) - yes it sounds insignificant but when a 6 month old hyperactive stubborn teenage pup jumps at a passer by or tries to do an alligator clip on the back of my knee, the lag is not as effective as real-time passing. However, aside from the delay, the beep and vibration features are very effective and get the point across. My rule of thumb is to only use the shock feature when my dog seems to be trying to flex his alpha muscles by biting. He's not evil, but he's immature and thinks he can get attention by diving under my desk and ripping off my toe or grabbing my ankle. I've only had to use it twice in the last month and set it to level 4 (maximum level is 14). I've tried it myself and it has some effect and my dog has a thick coat, but it still got the point. The beep and vibration are just what he needs for regular, addictive workouts.
