Review on Skyloong GK61 Gaming Mechanical Keyboard by Adam Kotula ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Exactly what I needed, it's a great buy, I recommend it.

The keyboard is made at an average level. The keyboard does not twist due to the monolithic body; Its height allows you to comfortably type and play without a palm rest. Keycaps are not made of the cheapest (but far from the most pleasant) PBT plastic. There are three main claims to the keyboard: 1. Backlash of the switch legs. However, this shortcoming applies to a large extent to optical Gaterons in general. If you are annoyed when a keycap can be loosened with a finger movement in all directions, then I advise you to refrain from buying this keyboard. 2. Lack of lubrication on stabilizers and switches. About switches, it’s clear that for such a price there’s no question of any lubrication, but it’s sad for the stubs. However, I note that they are not the loudest, some even have a very pleasant sound. For comparison, you can go to the Amazon and make sure that most mass-market keyboards rattle their stabilizers worse (this applies even to the brands Razer, Logitech, HyperX.). 3. Wireless connection. It is here, but I did not manage to connect the board with the computer. Whether this is my problem or the marriage of a particular instance - I do not know. But none of the dances with keyboard shortcuts described in the instructions helped. If there had been a Bluetooth switch, this problem could have been avoided. Outcome. GK61 will be a great purchase if you buy it for 3 or 3.5 thousand. But for 5-5.5k you can look at Dark Project KD61A or Anne Pro 2 (if you order from Ali). If you still buy, then I advise it is white. In combination with bright backlighting and a white plate from which light is scattered, it looks beautiful.

Pros
  • • White body and keycaps • Bright RGB backlight • Hotswap (the ability to replace switches without problems with a soldering iron) • Symbol design on keycaps • Wireless connection • Availability of software
Cons
  • • Lack of lubrication on stabilizers and switches • Significant backlash of the switch leg • Bluetooth connection is not the most intuitive way • Keycaps slightly translucent area near the symbols
