This is beautiful. Looks good and my phone hasn't fallen out so it holds the phone securely. However on the 2nd day I accidentally scratched it a bit with my fingernail, very lightly when I opened it and it scratched enough to not rub off. So, now there is a scratch on the front panel. After two weeks, the gilding on the front wore off. I honestly agree, I prefer silver and thought gold would wear out. Although everything went faster than I thought. Not bad. I feel my phone is secure, the strap fits well and the only (technical) wear and tear is the plating. I'm only taking off one star because of the scratchability.
