Great smart lock for door hardware and locks

So initially I was a bit hesitant to buy this lock just because of some negative reviews. However, after watching a YouTube video of a professional locksmith reviewing this lock and two other smart locks and saying you can't go wrong with either of them, I bit the bullet. I chose Kwikset because of its ability to change keys in locks itself. I've always had a Kwikset since I built my house and I love that I can easily rekey some locks I've replaced over the years and not have to worry about getting new keys for everyone with keys close. This makes Kwikset Halo very easy to install. To be honest I already had a latch that I needed to replace so I didn't have to measure and drill new holes to install the lock. I think the following could lead to negative feedback: Not following the instructions step by step and/or doing it wrong. They go into great detail and even explain that if you don't do this step correctly in that order, the lock may not work properly. The installation took me about 25 minutes, taking my time and double-checking each step. Setting up the smart lock/wifi connection, completing the firmware update and setting up the app/account took about half the time. Once the lock is fully installed, here is my list of pros and potential cons that I found. Benefits1. Easy to install2. Smart function through Bluetooth over your WLAN, so no special hub required.3. The quality and looks are very nice, and the keyboard is touchscreen, no keys. 4. Multiple ways to unlock - key, touchpad code, app, and even Alexa (after setup in Alexa app). It's great to have all of these options when you need to temporarily let people into your home. The application allows you to track who enters the house, as well as locked or unlocked doors.6. Reasonable cost compared to other smart locks with the same features. Potential Disadvantages 1. Locking noise when locking and unlocking. Slightly louder due to electronic movements.2. The status LED flashes every 5 seconds (however I just found out that this feature can also be disabled I think) 3. The battery cover on the inside of the lock is screwed on during installation and requires the bezel to be removed in order to to access the battery compartment. (However, once again found that if you don't screw this cover on you can easily reattach the cover after installation. It holds up very well. This allows you to easily pull the cover off to access the batteries if needed 4. If you not wanting to follow the instructions can cause problems 5. If you have poor WiFi reception near the place where the lock will be installed, it may affect the function of the lock, to comment on the battery life or durability when it comes to how long the lock will last. I know other Kwikset locks come with a lifetime warranty. However, this one has a one year warranty. Probably due to the built in electronics of this lock.
