When I received the mats and felt how slippery they were on the underside I was concerned but used them anyway. I made sure the floor was clean before putting them on. A few days later it started raining and a small amount of water got under the doormat, which can happen since the mat is right in the front door. I stepped on him normally and he flew away from under me. I arched my back to keep from falling. I have no idea what surface these rugs are for, but it's a regular tile floor. I do not recommend this product at all, especially if you risk serious injury if he slips on it.
