Good and bad scales in postal scales

Haven't used this scale for a long time, so I can't say anything about durability. I can't comment on the USB connection either as I haven't tried and don't intend to use this feature. It turned out that the scale had been bought and returned earlier. I don't think it was packaged properly for a thin electronic device - the outer box just fit in two dimensions and the padding was only on one side. Overall, the scale looks pretty decent for the price. It weighs consistently and at least fairly accurately. The display is ok, not great but not as bad as I feared after reading some of the reviews. The biggest issue is the battery compartment, which others have said is too small to store batteries. Spirit. I was barely able to insert the Sony Eneloop batteries far enough to work, but they aren't installed properly and the lid doesn't close properly. Maybe working with a dremel or file will solve the problem, but you don't have to. Another quality issue concerns the detachable front panel. The coiled wire connecting the two pieces doesn't fit well in the space provided, and the wire feels quite flimsy. Not sure how long they will last if the front of the scale is removed frequently or stopped regularly. On my scale, at one point the outer insulation was missing about an inch on one side of the wire. I don't know if it came that way from the factory or if it was the result of mishandling by a potential former buyer. If you are looking for the highest quality, look elsewhere and spend more. If you're looking for an inexpensive scale that's good enough to use easily for a while, then go for it.
