Review on Grill Polaris PGP 1902, stainless steel/black by Agata Kozio ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product is usable, I expected a bit more.

Got pros: I use a similar model, but with temperature control and a timer: Polaris PGP 2402. Mechanically, it is identical to this one, so I reproduce the review of it as it is. I advise you to pay attention, first of all, to the section "what did not like." "Heavy, durable, covered with stainless steel, which leaves an overall feeling of reliability. Removable heating panels: easy to clean. The temperature control system and analog time relays: there is nothing to "burn". The top panel is fixed in height in three positions plus free: press mode (two-way contact). Unfolds 180 degrees: both panels can be used simultaneously as a stove. Has cons: Regulators are very tight with smooth, slippery rotary knobs, so operating the device requires some tenacity and strength. The teeth that set the distance from the bottom panel to the top are located on one side, which, when installed in one or another adjustable position (except for the free, fully contact position), leads to a transverse (in the frontal plane) skew of the upper part of the grill by a significant angle: subjective , about 5 degrees. In practice, this means that by setting the top panel of the grill with the help of a prong to the lowest adjustable position, you get a clearance of more than 3 centimeters from the side of the prong, and less than 1.5 from the opposite side. Accordingly, on the opposite side of the regulator, the panel touches the food being cooked from above, which in most cases (for example, when preparing cheese sandwiches, heating pizza, etc.) is unacceptable. In addition, at the same time, the rotary mechanism experiences a significant one-sided load (in fact, a fracture), which, I suppose, will lead to irreparable damage to the unit in the near future.
